This time one of my favorite summer treats gets a twist. Root beer floats! I'm rather partial to Faygo, being it is Michigan company, but my second is A&W root beer. We used to have floats as a kid and I thought they were the best thing ever, the way it got all foam and you had to drink some of the foam to pour more pop on.
So when I saw this recipe I had to make these (by the way, I love the background on that blog).
The only thing I did different was chop up the cherries because I used 3 different sized popsicle molds and some were too small for a whole. And I only made half a batch.

Popsicles II
In honor of it being humid and warm today, some more lovely summer treats. This time a pudding pop. I again used stuff I had on hand to make them. This time it was about a can of peaches and a small box of french vanilla pudding.
First I buzzed the peaches in the mixer for a little bit. I wanted them to be bit chunky.
Then I mixed the juice from the peaches with milk to make 2 cups of liquid, with the instant pudding mix. Whisked it for about 2 minutes then stirred the peaches in.
So good! I had bit left over so I put them in to my little jello shot cups and after it set up for a while I put tooth picks in them. Who doesn't love mini popsicles.

Popsicles I
Can I just say right here, I love popsicles. Last year I picked up a couple popsicles molds to try out and got like making them even if they were rather simple. Yesterday changed that, I started googling some recipes and found a few that sounded good and tried them out with things I had in the house.
First up I made Banana, peanut butter chocolate chip. I kind of made it up as I went after I saw the recipe.
1 banana
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 t vanilla extract
milk (I eyeballed it so I have no idea how much it was 1/3-1/2 cup maybe)
1/8 cup mini chocolate chips (optional of course)
First put the mini chips in the bottom of the mold.
I put all but the milk in the smoothie maker thing and when it was smooth added milk and the mixed it again until I got a pretty good consistency. You don't want it to be too thick. Then add a few chips to the top if you want and put it in the freezer.
It will need about 4 hours to fully set up.

Now you'll have to look for me to do a series of popsicles since there are so many that I want to try.

New camera
No, not me. Sweet Pea got a camera for her birthday and it has been a big hit. The evening of her birthday alone I downloaded 220 pictures. I think if she keeps it up our hard drive will crash. Here is a sampling of her photog skills.
Not too bad, but then I've deleted the 200 pictures of the carpet and those that are a complete blur.

Mail time
The Sweet Pea has be interested in mail lately. Her vintage little people have a mail box with letters she likes to play with. For Valentine's day I got her and her cousins little metal mailboxes with treats and she loves to carry it around with her. So when I saw this I knew I needed to make one too!
I cut apart a large cereal box and painted the outside blue

The inside white, because I wanted it to look a tidy

Taped it together with packing tape.

Probably should have got The Mr. to paint the word mail on it. I have terrible penmanship, ask anyone!

Get a little person to try it out! I was saving all our junk mail for a week and then the Mr. came up and opened it all, so I have to try again.

Valentine cone
I'm so not as fancy as Martha Stewart, but I sure love the ideas her people come up with. Don't roll your eyes just yet. I only have one baby, who may or may not be my only and I want to be able to spoil her once in a while.
So follow the tutorial at MS, or like me just grab some poster board at your local dime store and just roll it up.
Then fill it with all kids of goodies. I tried to get a variety of little items to cram in. Sweet Pea really liked the slinky that her cousin got for Christmas so I picked one up for her. I did get quite a few more things but they wouldn't all fit, so I just had to pick and choose.

Here she is holding onto it, so that I could get a decent background. Well, you get the general idea.

Chocolate and peanut butter anyone?
We attempted brownie "cupcakes" with peanut butter frosting. Three small children and me that is.
From L: Sweet Pea, Monsoon, Cyclone.
Why yes it was an adventure. I will say that I was quite distracted and messed up the recipe but it didn't turn out too bad, I also baked them a little bit too long. Ah well, guess I'm not cut out for having three small ones close in age. The frosting was delicious though.
Here is the recipe. My pictures were a fail though, sorry!
